Here's an interesting point of view. The ability of the United States to use the many countries of the American hemisphere in such a way as to build an homogeneous bloc remain to be seen, though. Right now, Washington is treating the other countries l9cated in its hemisphere, Canada included, as captive entities that should remain powerless and dependent.

Échaudé par Trump, le Canada souhaite de plus en plus diversifier son commerce, économiquement parlant, tout en prenant aussi ses distances avec les États-Unis, politiquement parlant. Intégrer l'Union européenne serait une excellente façon de le faire. Cela permettrait au Canada de se joindre à un bloc économique en expansion, tout en participant à l'effort de réarmement entrepris par les Européens ces derniers temps, devant l'attitude malhonnête d'un président américain qui n'hésite pas à faire chanter l'Europe en la menaçant de droits douaniers outranciers si elle n'accroît pas ses dépenses liées à l'OTAN.

La faiblesse des investissements chinois à Cuba, par rapport aux autres pays latino-américains, surprend un peu, surtout si l'on pense que le pays insulaire a été officiellement reconnu comme un partenaire de l'association économique des BRICS il n'y a pas si longtemps. Les tensions persistantes avec les États-Unis sont possiblement à blamer pour cette frilosité. Pourtant, l'île dispose d'un potentiel intéressant de métaux appelés à prendre plus d'importance qu'aujourd'hui, dans la foulée du remplacement graduel des énergies fossiles par l'électricité, notamment dans le transport et la production énergétique, dont le nickel, le cobalt et le cuivre.

Après des années de délire multisexuel et non binaire, la rationalité commence à prendre le dessus dans le dossier des transitions de genre, même si la partisanerie politique vient brouiller les cartes. Les changements de sexe sont des décisions trop importantes pour être laissées à des enfants et doivent être interdits aux personnes d'âge mineur. Seuls les adultes doivent être autorisés à prendre ce genre de décisions (et à assumer les coûts qui en découlent). Ce qui est regrettable, ici, c'est de voir que les principaux partis américains semblent vouloir prendre des positions divergentes sur ce point. Les différences entre la droite et la gauche, ou entre l'extrême-droite et l'extrême-gauche, n'ont rien à voir avec ce genre de dossiers de questions relevant de la biologie humaine.

All the inhabitants of the land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea should have the same political rights, including the right to vote and the right to create political formations. Israel/Palestine, a torn country with a divided population, is half Israeli and half Palestinian, half Jew and half Muslim, half Hebrew-speaking and half Arabic-speaking. For decades and decades, Israel has complacently kept the Palestinian population subordinate and powerless, with little thougth for those millions whose rights were trampled. It seems that, for now, only economic boycott and political pressure can force Israel to relent.

Geography is inescapable: Central Asia is at the very heart of the large Eurasian landmass. From Beijing's point of view, two facts are unavoidable. First, to trade by land with Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the best, most direct, most economical way, is through Central Asia. Second, two very important countries are located to the North and to the South of Central Asia: Russia and India, respectively. Those countries, large and powerful, are currently in good terms with China, in a general manner, bboth being members of the BRICS economic association and of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and both having their own reasons to keep good relations with China, economically. Who knows what will be the relations between Russia, India ans China twenty years or thirty years from now?
