The Western era is coming to a close and the Eurasian era is dawning. The author of the article below is right about that point. The article below also proves that the population of Australia and, most likely, of New Zealand too, is divided about the future course of their respective countries in the coming decades. Will they join a cold war opposing the US and the UK against China, India, Iran, and Russia? Will they define a middle course and remain neutral politically, while trading with all the countries of the world, Western, Eurasian or otherwise, that wish to trade with them? It is to be hoped that they will choose the second option, as it it to be hoped that the countries forming the European Union will also choose the very same option, the most sensible course that is open to them. Those European countries must take care of their own security, possibly in a joint manner with Australia and New Zealand, in order to build critical mass, demographically, economically and budgetarily speaking, hopefully with other countries like Canada and Japan, and they must get out of NATO as soon as they can. That military alliance has outlived its usefulness. It was designed for another era, an era that is giving way to another.

After four generations since the Holocaust, since the defeat of Germany, more precisely since the defeat of the antisemitic state of Nazi Germany, history has made a full circle. Now, Israel, more precisely the Sionist State of Israel, in search of lebensraum, is commiting its own genocide against a Semitic people, the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip. Under the blanket of false pretense and easy excuses (Israel-is-a-vibrant-democracy-fighting-to-the death-against-antisemitic-terrorists-and-must-therefore-eliminate-them-to-the-last), it is waging war against another country, the self-liberated and self-governed Gaza Strip, and another people, a segment of the Palestinian nation, in part because it has been attacked in October 7, 2023, but also, and mainly, because the whole matter of Israeli-Palestinian relations has been left to rot for much too long, especially by the five countries making up the Security Council at the United Nations, since the Six-Day War of 1967, and since the Israeli Independance War of 1948. It is even worse than that, since the whole mess dates back to the Sionist colonization of Palestine, that started at the end of the XIXth Century, a migration that created frictions with the indigenous population already living there. It must be said, time and time again, that the two belligerents are two Semitic peoples, both speaking Semitic languages, Hebrew and Arab, who have been unable to share the same land peacefully. The United Nations must break the deadlock.

Score one point for the Secretary of War, in the ongoing culture war between the Pentagon, The Red and Loyal Heart Of The Donald, Leader Of The Free World, Liberator In Chief, America's Daddy & Spiritual Son of The Gipper, on the one hand, and Hollywood, on the other hand. Hollywood, needless to say, is located in a potentially disloyal Blue State. Unsurprisingly, being unmanly, unholy and unamerican, Hollywood is therefore the legitimate target of His rage, His wrath and His hatred.

How long will this folly be allowed to go on? Who will put Israel's nonsense and obstinacy to task? The Palestinians deserves political rights, not bullets. Israel must be stopped. Tsahal must get a bloody nose. Peace has to prevail over racism, injustice, and the neverending mistreatment of a whole people.

The new US inward-focus is certainly in line with this inward-looking US President, more concerned about internal matters than about what may be happening in the rest of the world. Hemispheric prioritization is not surprising, in view of recent developments in the waters near Venezuela, with warships lurking around the coast, fighters jets being sent to nearby Puerto Rico, and a live demonstration of complete disregard with the rules-based order, respect for human life and factual reality. It seems as if, for the Trumpians who are ruling Washington with an iron fist, an official designation as a terrorist entity is enough to authorize and legitimize anything their heart may desire.

Now, we are supposed to believe:
A) that Venezuela is a terrorist outfit, just like Gaza is supposed to be,
B) that the Venezuelian government is the embodiement of evil, just like Hamas is supposed to be, and
C) that Caracas is purposely and willingly running and organizing the fentanyl procurement network that is feeding America's insatiable appetite for psychotic drugs, and getting filthy rich in the process of its fabrication and sale, just like Beijing is supposed to be doing too, but on a even larger, apocalyptic scale, with the important difference that China has the Bomb and that Venezuela has not, and so is fair game.

Oh my God: America needs a strong hand at the helm, a strongman extraordinaire, a warlord, in short, somebody ready to show himself at the head of a whole department of Trumpian Warriors. At least, that must be the way it looks for someone who worked all his life in the private sector, getting to be a billionaire by squeezing everything that could be squeezed, then squandering everything because of his dream of entering one day into the public service, and becoming the most powerful man in the most powerful country of Earth. In practical terms, it means that Taiwan days an a quasi-country are numbered. The wayward province is doomed to return into the mainland fold, one way or the other. The Washington Warlord can not care less about the fate of Taiwan, nor does He care about the fate of Ukraine. Blood may spoil His Second Coming.

One more sign that Mongolia is probably heading toward membership in the BRICS economic association and also into the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Geographically, that will certainly eliminate one big hole in the vast Eurasian landmass that is covered by those two outfits...

Very informative about the duel that is going on between China, on the one hand, and the three anglospheric countries of America, Australia and New Zealand, on the other hand, over influence and control in the vast Pacific Ocean. That duel is very important and it is likely to have a lot of bearing in the future of Sino-American political relations, and more broadly on the future of Eurasian/Western relations, at a time when the US traditional military allies, like the European Union, Japan and South Korea, are facing a wide trade offensive initiated by the very country that used to be their protector in the last decades. That country is also in the midst of increasing budgetary difficulties, and seems to be envisioning a change in its strategic priorities, with different emphasis, depending on the concerned area, in layers. In that view, the greatest emphasis must thus be given on the protection of the homeland in particular (first layer), with a lesser emphasis to the protection of the American hemisphere in general (second layer), leaving the responsibility of much of the outer defenses of the American Empire to secondary powers (third layer).

The United States military is continuing to beef up its defensive installations along the Second Island chain, running north-south from the Japan archipelago to the island of New Guinea. That chain also include the island-fortress of Guam, and Saipan, another island that was conquered by America in World War 2, in the Mariannes archipelago, along with Tinian, site of the four-runways complex of North airfield.

Interesting and intriguing. One get the feeling that a way will be found, somehow, to bring the sample home, but probably later than sooner, maybe through private effort. That being said, it is true that NASA is becoming less cost-effective through time, which may explain why private enterprise is getting at the forefront of America's endeavour in the fields of space exploration and exploitation.

A very interesting article that insist on the strengths of Australia, rather than trying to play on its deepest fears. The Pacific Ocean is an enormous body of water. It is true that, in the last decades, it was almost an American lake, for all intents and purposes, except for its Northwestern parts, along the shores of China, North Korean and the USSR/Russia. But it must be remembered that, before World War II, it was a space that was wide open, exposed to the normal rivalry between different states having diverging interests and preoccupations. That China is getting more visible and more present on that gigantic oceanic bathtub is simply a return to normalcy.

It is difficult not to listen to Fox News today and not think about Horst Wessel and the infamous 'song' that was made in his honor. He is becoming a martyr to the Trumpians and they will probably used his memory as a political tool...

---

The author of the article below is quite right. One of Trump's most deplorable effects is to legitimize the false argument that climate change is not real. It means that, for now, the most powerful country in the world, and the wealthiest, is putting an enormous brake on the whole wide world effort made by most other countries to reduce carbon emission in time. It may become even worse if Trump is able to convince a lot of people in those other countries that it is right to have doubts about climate change, that it is nothing but a Chinese plot, and that it is better to stop thinkin about electricity-based energy and to invest instead in coal, oil and natural gas. How sad and unfortunate it is!

More military contracts that aims to strengthen Fortress Guam, the nerve center of the defensive line America is building along the Second Island chain, between Japan and New Guinea. The more the US invest on that line, the more evident it does not expect to be able to hold the forward defensive line along the First Island chain in case of an open conflict with China, unless Japan and the Philippines join the fight with their own forces, which remain to be seen. Essentially, the US installations on that First Island chain are made up of military bases build on sites that are leased from South Korea, Japan and the Philippines.

Europe needs to redefine itself, according to its own needs, hopes and interests. The change must start at the top, with the replacement of the president of the European Commission, Ms von der Leyen, with someone who will stand for the European Union, not submit to Trump's diktats.

https://www.lemonde.fr/afrique/article/2025/03/27/soudan-du-sud-le-placement-en-residence-surveillee-du-vice-president-riek-machar-precipite-le-pays-vers-la-guerre-civile_6586817_3212.html

It is interesting to note that the three Southeast Asian countries (Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia) have growth rate higher than China's. If it goes on like this in the coming years, it is bound to be significant in the long run, climate-wise, especially in the case of Indonesia, with its huge population. The European is continuing to make progress, while the US are stalles, because of Trump's backward policies, and Mexico's fear of displeasing its northern neighbor. India's growth rate is disappointing, of course, but it will probably get better as it grow richer with time. Lack of choice may also be a factor.
